    Local SEO consulting

Local SEO is won on three things and lost on a fourth. The three: a complete and active Google Business Profile, consistent citations, and location pages with genuine service detail. The fourth — the one most businesses ignore — is reviews arriving steadily rather than in bursts. I'm Deepak Shukla, founder of Pearl Lemon. My team runs local search for service businesses, and this page sets out the work, the cost and the timeline.

    • Google Business Profile built out properly: categories, services, products, posts
    • Citation clean-up so your name, address and phone agree everywhere
    • Location and service-area pages written for people, then optimised

How the map pack is decided

Google weighs relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your office, so the work is relevance (categories, services, on-page copy matching the searches people make) and prominence (reviews, citations, local links and mentions). Businesses that win consistently treat the profile as a live channel, posting and answering questions, rather than a listing they filled in once.

    Multi-location and service-area businesses

Each location needs its own profile, its own page, and a reason to exist beyond a find-and-replace of the town name: staff, local work, directions, service specifics. Service-area businesses without a public address need a different approach again, leaning harder on service pages and local link acquisition.

    Measuring local work honestly

Rankings move by device and by street, so position tracking alone misleads. The metrics that matter are profile calls, direction requests, and form fills by page — tracked from the first week so the before-and-after is real.

Local SEO consulting — frequently asked questions

How much does local SEO cost?
A local SEO audit starts at £1,500. Ongoing work covering profile management, citations, reviews and location content starts at £3,000 a month.
How long until I appear in the map pack?
Profile and citation work often shows within 4–8 weeks in less competitive areas. Competitive city centres, where every competitor is already optimised, usually take three to six months of review and link acquisition.
    Do reviews really affect rankings?
Review volume, recency and content all feed prominence, and they affect click-through even where they don't move position. A steady flow beats a burst.
